The Strike in EULEN-ABB Continues

The workers requested another meeting with the Employment Officer, who 10 days ago made a commitment to take the appropriate steps to assess the potential to facilitate an agreement to end the strike. It also promised to look into violations of the right to strike reported by the workers. Workers have brought a case to the labor court, challenging the order given by ABB to perform work at the factory for reasons of "security and maintenance."

ABB, in collaboration with EULEN, is trying to use Article 6.7 of Decree 17/1977 regulating the right to strike to force workers to resume work at the factory citing reasons of safety and maintenance which have no basis in reality.

The strike committee is taking measures that prevent EULEN ABB from carrying out this maneuver against the right to strike. Likewise, they have filed a complaint in court against the violation of the right to strike.

On December 15, a demonstration is planned, starting from the Avenida de la Victoria to Tendillas. There will also we solidarity actions in the coming days in different cities. Among those already  confirmed, or which have already made an action are Madrid , Zaragoza, Sant Quirze dle Vallés, Miranda de Ebro, Sevilla, and others.

Also the first international actions at ABB headquarters are being prepared.

Workers have increased the infrastructure at the camp in front of the factory doors. They have electricity and a shelter where they can spend the cold December nights. The strike and camp at the factory gates is in its 15th day and the workers are preparing to spend the holidays fighting for their workplaces.
