About a hundred workers took to the streets in a protest called by the CNT this March 26 in Compostela to condemn the illegal transfer of workers in the administration to private companies as well as harassment and dismissals. Although the weather was not obliging, the demonstration started at noon at the Plaza Roxa de Compostela and ended in the Plaza de Cervantes with a speech by one of the dismissed workers and the general secretary of the CNT Compostela.
This event was part of the union campaign was launched to denounce the practice of the Xunta de Galicia, (the Council of the Autonomous Community), of outsourcing all those services they can by subcontracting work to outside companies. Job insecurity in the public sector not only deteriorates the working conditions , but also degrades the service we receive. The submission, passivity, cronyism and opacity of agreements and interests between high officials and the company take precedence over the principles of equality, merit and ability determined access to public employment. In the CNT we have spent years fighting this situation and now we have several open conflicts in different regional ministires. We invited all of the workers the Xunta has outsourced to take on this situation through the CNT, the only union that is not subsidized, that does not take part in union elections , which doesn't have professional unionists released from work duties and does not depend on any party.
