FAU Berlin - International Day of Struggle against Ford-Visteon on August 19 - Solidarity Now!

Rally at Visteon Plant Berlin, August 19, 2011, 2 pm..

Wupperstr. 9 / Berlin Zehlendorf

(Bus 285 at Rathaus Steglitz)

The workers have not been surprised when a representative of Cadiz Electrónica S.A. (Visteon/Ford) in Spain pronounced the closure of the production site on June 23, 2011. But that did not lower their anger and frustration. CNT-IWA's union section inside that company started to fight against the closure, its workplace destruction and outsourcing strategies.

Some Background Informations about the relation between Visteon and Ford.

The Ford Company, learning from the success of Walmart, decided to begin outsource jobs in 1997. It set up the company Visteon which in turn sets up 40 separate companies one of which was Visteon UK. Outsourcing has a number of advantages for companies like Ford. It enables the bosses to cut hours, wages and jobs while holding onto profits. It even enables them to run companies into the ground while still making money.

A Few Get Rich by Exploiting Many: Outsourcing

At the same time, outsourcing hides the true nature of companies and how much they are worth. More simply, the company can move money around the world from company to company, so paying as little tax as possible. Profits are declared in the countries with the lowest tax rates and debts are declared elsewhere. Most multinational corporations do this to avoid tax.

No more profit making on the back of the working class! Anyone at anytime can be a victim of capitalism, today in Cadiz, tomorrow in Berlin. Let's set a sign of unity! Let's support the struggle of the employees of Cadiz Electrónica S.A. (Visteon/Ford), who fight for their jobs and against the closure of their plant! We will resist exploitation and companies' arbitrary economic strategy !

STOP OUTSOURCING AND WORKPLACE CLOSURE -

WETHER IN CADIZ OR IN BERLIN !

WITHOUT STRUGGLE, WE WON'T GIVE UP A DIGNIFIED FUTURE!!!
