(Caen) Action at Carrefour

Comrades from the CNT-AIT Caen and the new CNT-AIT Lisieux met Saturday, January 8, 2011 in front of a "Carrefour city" in Caen in solidarity with the fired comrade from the CNT-AIT (E) and to denounce working conditions and the multinational Carrefour logic (so little different from Mercadona, to name the distribution sector). The following leaflet was distributed at this occasion.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Carrefour!

"Dear Customer", cross the threshold of a Carrefour store, you enter into what is the best. Behind its decoration in soft colors that make you feel somewhat at home, a Carrefour store remains a place of business, high-end! Poverty wages, unpaid overtime, split shifts disrupting daily life, work required on Sundays and holidays, allowing automation to cut back on staffing, new management techniques and bullying until the bathroom door. In the region, the oldest will remember with nostalgia the "good old days of PROMODES, a Caen company that gave birth to the multinational Carrefour. The corporate culture has changed, operation as well, but remains a constant like any capitalist enterprise; the multinational Carrefour seeks to achieve a maximum profit. Maintaining the lowest wages possible, while increasing their margin on the sale of goods, its shareholders and other technocrats fatten on customers and employees are themselves consumers.

"We do the job, but it is the shareholders who are reaping the benefits. " An employee of Carrefour

So ask the cashier if she was satisfied with her salary and  her last raise! And your shopping cart: you still fill it without emptying the wallet? In this capitalist society, we will always have: exploited workers, consumers stolen, extorted taxpayers to 19.6% for fattening patterns, repay bank debts or pay any clique of rulers, we are also more more guarded, repressed, poisoned by our environment, patronized by the media, badly housed, poorly cared for, etc.. etc..
3 billion euros in 2010 profit and you?

But we can not complain: our ancestors served in more than cannon fodder for games warriors of world leaders ... For icing on the cake, we should also keep silent! At Carrefour, as elsewhere, the claims are put in a closet ... Otherwise, you end up. Thus, in Pilar de Horadada in Spain, an activist of our International Workers Association (IWA) has recently been dismissed because of her union activities troublesome for employers. To express our solidarity with her but also with muzzled Carrefour operated we are here.

As we did in 2010 before StartPeople multinational, precarious work, which had dismissed anothers panish militant of our association, these practices should be revealed in broad daylight as the exploitation and vulnerability exercised across borders . Everywhere, in places where we live and work, young people and retirees, students, employees and unemployed, housewives and grandmothers isolated: we organize and refuse exploitation, inequality, exclusion, beginning with us show solidarity with each other.

WE DO NOT LET THEM CRUSH US.RESISTANCE EVERYWHERE!
